Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-7; Anal soft rays: 5-6. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: long costate; whole body covered by scales except head; 12 branched caudal fins rays; lateral head length 18.5-22.5% of SL; deepest body depth 8.5-13.2% of SL; head width 6.2-6.5% of SL, head height 45.7-49.5% of lateral head length, caudal peduncle height 37.8-58.5% of length (Ref. 137844).
