Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Xe Nam Noi of the Mekong basin in Laos.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8. Lower jaw sheath thickened and broad, with a sharp edge; lower lip restricted to corner of mouth; 16-17 predorsal scales (Ref. 36949). Mouth almost straight, very wide, width equal to head width at mouth level; elongate body, depth 4 times in SL (Ref. 43281).
