Max. size:  25 cm NG (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Black Sea: North, and parts of Sea of Azov. Restricted to brackish water habitats (Ref. 92840).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Restricted to brackish water habitats; endemic to Black and Caspian Seas (Ref. 92840). Found inshore, on pebbles or gravel, and also some offshore banks; migrates to shallows in spring (Ref. 4696). Eggs deposited under and between stones (Ref. 4696).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 14 March 2014 Ref. (130435)
