Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Pogonichthyinae
Max. size:  36 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Clear Lake and tributaries in Lake County in California, USA.
Diagnosis:  Barbel absent or small on terminal mouth; less asymmetrical caudal fin; usually 62-65 scales on lateral line; and 1st gill arch with 18-23 rakers (Ref. 86798).
Biology:  Found in shoreline (as young) and open water of Clear Lake. Formerly spawned in tributaries of lake (Ref. 5723).
