Max. size:  4.29 cm SL (male/unsexed); 6.28 cm SL (female)
Environment:  pelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Central America: Honduras. Known only from the Caribbean drainage basins of Honduras (Ref. 87955).
Diagnosis:  Poecilia hondurensis is distinguished from all other species of Poecilia that have an inner row of tricuspid teeth in each jaw by the absence of a spinal hook on gonopodial ray 5 and an extremely reduced membranous hook on gonopodial ray 3 (Ref. 87955).
