Distribution:  South America: known only from the type locality, a temporary swamp near rio das Mortes, rio Araguaia basin in Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal soft rays: 13-15; Vertebrae: 29-29
Biology:  Found in a temporary swamp in a savannah area (Ref. 57947).
