Family:  Ophichthidae (Snake eels), subfamily: Ophichthinae
Max. size:  22 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: known only from the 21.7 cm holotype from Sulawesi (Indonesia) and from the two reported in 1944 by Blegvad from the Arabian and Oman gulfs.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in shallow water and lagoons (Ref. 68964).
IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient (DD); Date assessed: 28 November 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
