Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 45 - 700 m
Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic: Namibia (Ref. 27121) and from the Cape Peninsula to East London in South Africa. Western Indian Ocean: Kenya (Ref. 45011).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 62-68; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 60-62; Vertebrae: 48-50. Dorsal fins connected by a shallow membrane; caudal fin rounded (Ref. 45011).
Biology:  Inhabits the continental shelf and upper slope (Ref. 6606).
