Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Atlantic Guinean slope.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 24-29; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 30-35. Body depth 3-4 x SL. Caudal peduncle height 15.7-20.9 x SL. Dorsal fin base 3.4-4.0 x SL. Eye diameter 3.2-1.6 x head length. Color silvery, more or less brownish. First rays of dorsal darkened black forming triangular spot at base of dorsal fin. Darkened upper and lower rays of caudal forming V-spot.
Biology:  Affinities: P. levequei.
