Family:  Pentacerotidae (Armorheads), subfamily: Histiopterinae
Max. size:  34 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 10 - 80 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: southern Western Australia. Has previously been confused with Zanclistius elevatus.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs on the continental shelf (Ref. 9563).

Threat to humans:  harmless
