Absence of lateral ocellus on middle of flank; presence of a conspicuous mid-lateral stripe; number of abdominal ribs usually 8 starting on second vertebra; and a single epural in the caudal fin. Posterior branch of first pelvic soft ray elongated as filament that projects slightly beyond fin membrane (Ref. 47277). | |||
