Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Torinae
Max. size:  13.32 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: India.
Diagnosis:  This species is distinguished by the following characters: 43- 44 lateral line scales 43-44l pre - dorsal scales 13-14. Colouration: upper lateral dusky green; lower lateral light yellow; blackish proximal part and the dorsal fin reddish at the distal border; ventral and anal fins are reddish; differs from its congeners in not having any mid lateral color band, anal fin with spots or bands (Ref. 132417).
