Max. size:  2.93 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: India.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 142-148. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: origin of the dorsal fin (DFO) just above or slightly anterior to the gill opening; pectoral fin is small, rounded, and white in color, with no dark blotch on the anterior lobe of the dorsal fin; teeth are small and numerous, uniserial at the beginning of maxillary with triserial ending, mandibular teeth biserial anteriorly and triserial posteriorly; presence of single lip barbel; mean vertebral formula (MVF) is 7.5/46/144.6 (Ref. 133138).
