Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Acrossocheilinae
Max. size:  50 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range 0 - 10 m
Distribution:  Asia: Taiwan (Ref. 6376) and China (Ref. 57879).
Diagnosis:  Head short and top of head convex; snout short and conical; eyes small and interorbital space wide. Dorsal fin without spine, origin of it nearer to tip of snout and opposite ahead of origin of ventral fin; base of anal fin short and its outer margin truncated.
Biology:  Inhabits rapid flowing streams.
