| Diagnosis: | Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-6; Anal soft rays: 4-4. Escal morphology: anterior appendage with a series of filaments along posterior margin; medial appendages in three groups; terminal papilla elongate; posterior appendage compressed and branched. Characterized further by having short and broad subopercle, upper end rounded without indentation on posterior margin; length of ventral fork of opercle; 27.7-30.2% SL; ratio of lengths of the dorsal and ventral forks of opercle 0.48-0.50; absence of epibranchial teeth; presence of teeth on pharyngobranchial II; upper jaw teeth 32, lower jaw teeth 30; teeth on vomer 4-6; dorsal fin rays 6; anal fin rays 4; pectoral fin rays 17; head length 45.3% SL; head depth 43.4% SL; premaxilla length 30.2% SL; length of lower jaw 47.2% SL; length of illicium 26.4% SL (Ref. 86949). | |||
