Family:  Nothobranchiidae (African rivulines)
Max. size:  3.3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 6.9 - 7.5, non-migratory
Distribution:  Africa: Ruvu and Rufiji systems in Tanzania (Ref. 41296, 59344, 74420).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-17; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 15-16. Can be distinguished from congeners by the pattern in the caudal fin. Males also show an irregular red blotch on the operculum.
Biology:  Found in small, temporary, weedy pools (Ref. 41296).
