Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Inhaca Island, Mozambique to False Bay, South Africa (Ref. 4371).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 20-25; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 23-26
Biology:  Adults inhabit coastal waters with rocky substrate. Food consists of algae and associated invertebrates (Ref. 5213).
