Max. size:  65 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: USA; occurrence in Mexico is uncertain.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits lakes and deep runs and pools of small to medium rivers (Ref. 52299). Feeds on aquatic insects, mollusks, amphipods, ostracods, algae, plant seeds and fish (Ref. 79012).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 01 October 2018 Ref. (124695)
