Family:  Syngnathidae (Pipefishes and seahorses), subfamily: Syngnathinae
Max. size:  26.75 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 3 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: Victoria and Tasmania, Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found amongst eelgrass (Zostera sp.). Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). Smallest examined brooding male is 13.95 cm SL.
