Family:  Pomacentridae (Damselfishes), subfamily: Microspathodontinae
Max. size:  17 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 5 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: including Fernando Poo and Annobon Islands, in the Gulf of Guinea and north to Ghana.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 12-12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16-17; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 12-13
Biology:  Adults inhabit rocks and rubble on inshore reefs (Ref. 7247). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
