Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 15 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: New South Wales, Australia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16-17; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 14
Biology:  Adults inhabit rocky or weedy inshore reefs (Ref. 7247). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
