Max. size:  7.13 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater,
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Malawi in Malawi and Mozambique (Ref. 58703, 79521).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits the intermediate zone; rocks and sandy habitats; between 4 and 30 m deep; males territorial; females are solitary or form small groups; feeds on aufwuchs and plankton in the water column (Ref. 58703). Spawning sites are holes in the sand beneath a rock (Ref. 79521).
