Max. size:  21.2 cm SL (male/unsexed); 15.5 cm SL (female)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 675 - 1187 m
Distribution:  Southeast Pacific: off Peru.
Diagnosis:  These distinct features distinguish this species from congeners in the area: unique lateral line configuration, two pelvic-fin rays, absence of head and nape scales, pattern of head pore, and axial skeleton count.
Biology:  Found in deep waters off Peru (Ref. 78516).
