Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Pogonichthyinae
Max. size:  13 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: White (excluding Black River system) and Little Red River systems in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits rocky pools, runs and deep riffles of clear, fast creeks and small to medium rivers (Ref. 86798). Oviparous (Ref. 205), probably nest spawners like congeners.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 01 March 2012 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
