| Biology: | One of the largest cichlids in the lake. Usually observed near rocks, but suspected to roam the sunken sand plains in search of bivalve mollusks, crabs, and other invertebrates (Ref. 6770), often in aggregation (Ref. 86760). Females brood their young in the mouth (Ref. 86760). | |||
