Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 2000 m
Distribution:  Atlantic Ocean. In the western Atlantic, from New Jersey to northern Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Oceanic species (Ref. 26340) occurring from the surface (young) to about 2,000 m depth (Ref. 4473).

Threat to humans:  harmless
