| Biology: | Occurs near piers and wharves to offshore depths of 62-120 m. Specimens have been taken over bryozoan and coarse shell bottom; juveniles in surface plankton tows. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). Males may be brooding at 9.95 cm SL. | |||
