Distribution:  South America: ParanĂ¡ River basin.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 33-33. Diagnosed by the following characters: dental formula 4/4; 34 or 35 scales in the lateral line; 4/4 or 4/5 transversal series of scales; and 16 circumpeduncular series of scales (Ref. 75002).
Biology:  Distinct pairs breed on densely grown weedy places (Ref. 205).
