Family:  Triglidae (Searobins), subfamily: Triglinae
Max. size:  28 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 10 - 100 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: Australian waters (South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16-17; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 16-17. Adults have large pectoral fins that reach well beyond the tips of the pelvic fins, and a prominent black spot on the first dorsal fin between spines V-VIII (Ref. 33616).
Biology:  Found in coastal marine waters, over on the continental shelf (Ref. 33616). Benthic (Ref. 75154).
