Max. size:  66 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 100 - 500 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: off the Scotian Shelf of Canada to off southern Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 52-58; Vertebrae: 98-107. Body silvery to brown with a dark lateral line; gill cavity black (Ref. 12204). Dorsal fin elements 90-98 (Ref. 36453).
Biology:  Juveniles pelagic, adults benthopelagic (Ref. 12204).
