Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
Max. size:  12.3 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater,
Distribution:  Africa: Pool Malebo and the rapids immediately downstream, with one collection as far west as Manianga, in Democratic Republic of the Congo and Republic of Congo (Ref. 52248, 97099).
Diagnosis:  Description: extremely slender and elongated; swim bladder reduced (Ref. 52307). Coloration: at least males with numerous silvery spots on body scales and unpaired fins; dark stripe often visible running from posterior edge of eye to outer edge of opercle; 6 dark vertical bars may be visible on the body (Ref. 52307).
Biology:  Rheophilic; probably a pair-bonding cave spawner (Ref. 52307).
