Family:  Bothidae (Lefteye flounders)
Max. size:  20 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 70 - 300 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: including East Africa and Japan.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 105-114; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 85-93. Mouth very small and asymmetrical, its length much shorter than eye diameter. Dentition developed only on blind side of jaws. Head small, 1/6 to 1/7 of SL. First 2 dorsal fin rays detached from others. Body with small spots.
