Max. size:  9 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 32 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Samoa to the Line and Society islands, French Polynesia and the Pitcairn Group.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits lagoon and seaward reefs up to a depth of at least 32 m (Ref. 9710). Feeds on small small parasites and damaged tissues of other fish (Ref. 89972).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 19 February 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
