Max. size:  8.6 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 39-40
Biology:  The species inhabits a narrow, shallow stream approximately 4.0 m wide, with depths varying from a few centimeters to 0.5 m. The stream has moderate flow, a substrate of gravel and rocks, and is bordered by well-preserved riparian vegetation characteristic of Deciduous Seasonal Forest physiognomy (Ref. 138403).
