Max. size:  25 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  Asia: India.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits deeper portion of large streams and rivers below the ghats (Ref. 41236). Migrates upstreams during floods and spawns in the upper reaches of streams (Ref. 4832). Omnivorous; feeds on allochthonous plant materials, seeds, terrestrial insects, Chironomous larvae and small benthic mollusks (Ref. 44151).
