Family:  Characidae (Characins), subfamily: Incertae sedis
Max. size:  4.41 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic
Distribution:  Central and South America: Atlantic slope of southern Costa Rica; Atlantic coastal streams of Panama; San Juan, Atrato, Dagua, and Patia Rivers, and around the mouth of the Magdalena River; Esmeraldas River.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits creeks and rivers of moderate velocity between 40 and 60 m of elevation. Eats mainly terrestrial insects.
