Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: known only from Digul and Lorentz rivers in Irian Jaya, Indonesia (Ref. 2847). Reported from Binge river, Papua New Guinea (Ref. 6192).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-14; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-10
Biology:  Adults inhabit large turbid lowland rivers (Ref. 2847). Eggs are guarded and fanned by the male parent (Ref. 205).
