Max. size:  14.7 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range - 9 m
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Victoria.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in sheltered and relatively shallow areas with either soft (mud) or hard (sand or shingle) substrate (Ref. 4983). The few specimens which were examined were found to be piscivorous, the prey being predominantly Haplochromis and less often, small Cyprinidae (probably Engraulis argenteus) (Ref. 558).
