Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range 0 - 8 m
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Victoria.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits exposed sandy beaches; sheltered bays and gulfs with a soft mud bottom; rocky shelves running out from exposed islands (Ref. 4983). Feeds on fish (Ref. 558).
