Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range 9 - 23 m
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Victoria.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in relatively exposed areas with a mud bottom (Ref. 4983). Feeds on the pupae of chironomid flies (which occur in dense aggregates), and apparently feeds away from the bottom (Ref. 6708).
