Max. size:  29 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 15 - 450 m
Distribution:  North Pacific: eastern Hokkaido, Japan to the Bering Sea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 9-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-18; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 17-19. Interorbital space wide, its width about 1.5 times eye diameter, and covered with bony plates (Ref. 559).
