Max. size:  100 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-oceanic; marine; depth range - 550 m
Distribution:  Southern Ocean: Ross and Cooperation seas. Probably found south of the Antarctic Polar Front.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 30-30; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 31-31; Vertebrae: 51-51. Light brown ventrally, head, dorsum and sides of trunk dark. Dorsal fins lighter, membranes transparent. Pelvic and anal fins light, mouth and gill cavity dark (Ref. 11892).
