Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 630 - 1000 m
Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic: known only from the Whale Ridge.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 63-71; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 56-61; Vertebrae: 48-51. Body short, ending in narrow caudal peduncle; head large and without scales; vomer triangular; modified scales on lateral line approximately 14-15 (Ref. 31160).
