Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: coastal areas and up to river mouths from Guyana to northern Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14-14; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 13-14; Vertebrae: 26-26. Scales in longitudinal series 77-89.
Biology:  Found in muddy areas, under stones (Ref. 27974).
