Max. size:  11.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: southern Florida (USA), Bahamas, and Yucatan, Mexico to Fernando de Noronha Island, Brazil (Ref. 13628).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 19-19; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-11; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 18-19
Biology:  Occurs in rocky and rubble shores with algal mats, reefs and seagrass beds.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 18 October 2007 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
