Distribution:  Oceania: Markham and Ramu river systems in Papua New Guinea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 18-20
Biology:  Inhabits high altitude (150-800 m) swamps and creeks. An egg laying species which prefer the following aquarium conditions: pH=7.8, H=12, 25°C water temperature.
