Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
Max. size:  12.8 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 7 - 8.5
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to the northern part of Lake Malawi.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs usually at deep levels where the steep, rocky coast ends on the sand. Found over sandy patches in the intermediate habitat. The average depth is about 20 m (Ref. 5595).
