Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 850 - 1480 m
Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic and Southwest Indian Ocean: Table Bay, South Africa to Mozambique.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 169-170; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 150. Flesh-colored; blackish over gill covers; fins dusky to black (Ref. 2800).
