Max. size:  21.4 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; depth range 0 - 2 m
Distribution:  South America: Essequibo, Marowijne, and Corantijn River basins.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in forest creeks, 4 to 8 m wide, 0.3 to 2 m deep, over sandy bottom with flowing water. During reproduction, the males have short odontodes restricted to some parts of their snout (Ref. 35381).
