Family:  Stomiidae (Barbeled dragonfishes), subfamily: Melanostomiinae
Max. size:  11 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-oceanic; marine
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: known only from the type locality in the eastern Caribbean.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 25-25; Anal soft rays: 42-42. Barbel with three branches arising together from stem; barbel stem pigmented only up to origin of branches; distal stem pigmented only on axis; terminal bulb spheroidal, without pigment or internal structures, bearing a single, simple terminal filament.
Biology:  The only known specimen is an apparently mature male of 11 cm SL.
